I’m Clint Tackett, the owner of Tackett Deck Builders, and my story starts in rural West Virginia—where hard work, honesty, and doing things the right way wasn’t optional… they were just a way of life.
After graduating high school, I went straight into the U.S. Military in 2002. Following training, I was deployed to Iraq with the 101st Airborne. That time in service shaped who I am today—teaching me discipline, accountability, teamwork, and what it truly means to earn trust.
After my military career, I went to work in the power plant industry and became a welder for over a decade. When emissions regulations forced the closure of the power plant, I made a decision that changed my life: I started my own business in 2015, committed to building something lasting for my family and my future.
Along the way, I spent seven years doing humanitarian work, traveling the world as a mission trip coordinator. I organized construction projects of all sizes, recruited and managed volunteer teams, and helped deliver meaningful builds—completely free—for communities in need. Those experiences reminded me that construction isn’t just about what you build… it’s about who you build it for.
At the beginning of 2024, I returned to deck building full-time and officially launched the next chapter of my career under Tackett Deck Builders. Since then, we’ve grown quickly—and we’re just getting started.
